Romantic Coastal Wedding with Timeless Design

In the wake of their intimate elopement in 2022, Christine and Andrew embarked on the journey to create a second celebration, a grander affair this time, at the rustic and remote Crook Point venue. While their rural, coastal venue required a deft and detailed planning hand, Tapestry was honored to step in and turn logistical complexities into a canvas for a uniquely beautiful wedding.

OUR TAPESTRY COUPLE.

For a deeper dive into Christine and Andrew's love story, take a moment to revisit their enchanting elopement in our previous blog. Their love blossomed over local hikes, board games, and thoughtful moments, creating a perfect balance in their personalities. Marriage was a natural progression, and Andrew, who had spent over five months designing her engagement ring, proposed during a Bellingham hike, sealing their love story.

Their connection, a blend of Christine's preference for highly personal and low-stress celebrations and Andrew's desire for community-driven, social events, set the stage for a Tapestry-guided wedding that would seamlessly combine their distinct values.

WHY TAPESTRY.

Christine and Andrew chose Tapestry for our ability to navigate both elopements and weddings, ensuring a cohesive experience across vendors, design, and atmosphere. With Christine's vision favoring personal, stress-free moments and Andrew seeking community-driven, celebratory gatherings, Tapestry was tasked with bringing these influences into both the elopement and the subsequent wedding celebration.

COUPLE’S GOALS A REALITY.

Facing the challenge of a complicated, remote, and destination venue, Christine and Andrew sought Tapestry's expertise to streamline logistics and create a smooth experience for themselves and their guests. With budget considerations in mind, Tapestry worked diligently to identify and secure vendors willing to travel to the limited-access location, ensuring a memorable event without unnecessary financial strain.

With all of our destination events, we try and hire as much local talent as possible to match our client’s vision. However, we are very well-resourced and know when to bring in vendors from a bit further afield if we aren’t seeing what we need in the local market. This team was a combination of vendors from Southern and Central Oregon, as well as some specialists from Washington and our fabulous destination photographers from Texas. We made each hiring choice very thoughtfully and were proud of the team of professionals we were able to assemble for this event.

In a full planning relationship, Tapestry spearheaded the coordination of logistics for this unique event. Navigating the challenges of a rural venue, the team meticulously organized meal experiences across two different locations, coordinated inventories from three rental sources, devised an innovative light tent for the dining experience, and crafted a comprehensive website, welcome packet, and transportation plan to facilitate seamless movement between weekend activities. The back-end communication and careful planning were instrumental in transforming a bare-bones space into a visually stunning celebration.

A DAY TO REMEMBER.

The wedding day itself was a testament to the success of the collaborative effort. Design took center stage, with exquisite floral arrangements, captivating photography, inviting lounge spaces, and the dreamy ambiance of the light tent. The natural beauty of Crook Point served as an enchanting backdrop, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of every element woven into this joyous celebration.

Our focus was to create a tailored, romantic, timeless design that brought an element of black tie to a coastal destination. We wanted class without stuffiness; romance without making it too precious. We worked hard to identify vendors who would deliver and work at this remote venue, as well as carry offerings that aligned with the couple’s budget and investment values. Both the couple and we agree that the time invested was well worth the experience gained!

A QUICK REFLECTION.

We always feel lucky to be a part of our couple’s stories. And the chance to get to be a part of Christine and Andrews from intimate elopement to their big wedding day was incredibly special. We got to know them and their goals on a deep level, and watch them navigate some incredible and challenging chapters in their lives.

Diving into client relationships like these is why we do this work; deep and authentic human connection is our thing. We are proud to have been their planners for not one, but two celebrations of their love that served their needs and their values. And we are equally as proud to have developed a vendor team that took such great care of them from elopement to wedding day.
