Tapestry's Favorite Elopement + Adventure Wedding Accessories Pt. 1
Tapestry Event Co. has A LOT of collective experience hiking and creating beautiful moments in the outdoors. Whether for fun or for work, we are out climbing those mountains, soaking up the rays in the desert, or strolling by the water’s edge. This means we have accrued quite a bit of knowledge about what you need and don’t need, what you will regret not bringing, and what could be handy in an emergency. Mother nature is a beautiful but unpredictable lady; we always need to be prepared!
Below you will find lists of our favorite essential supplies for adventure elopements. You won’t need these for every adventure, so make sure you read what terrain we recommend them for and check in with your elopement planner to see if they will be bringing some of these supplies. We frequently carry most of these items on our trips, but some items, like microspikes, can’t be shared!*

This app shows the names of all mountains and peaks within a panoramic view, functions offline, and gives you access to ranges worldwide, for the curious explorer. This is great for couples planning on backpacking, or simply those who don’t want to get lost!

We bring ours to every wedding and elopement!, It pairs perfectly with your favorite travel playlists for easy outdoor listening during your road trip away from civilization, first dance in the forest, golden hour, or the drive back to your cabin.
Anker Power Bank
If keeping your gear charged and ready to take photos or use cell phone apps is part of your adventure, we like this brand for its charge-bang-for-your-buck. Don't be fooled — it looks compact but it's going to cost you in weight to stay powered up.

Bear Spray + Bear Container
This is for, you know, for when Yogi comes strolling through camp trying to find your Doritos. Your permits should tell you whether the region requires one, but some campers opt to carry them just in case. Here is more information from the National Fish & Wildlife Service about where bears show up in the PNW.
Black Diamond Headlamp
This brand is our tried-and-true. You can scale to different options for different needs, but we find the $40-$60 price point services most post-sunset or pre-sunset traversing.
DEET Bug Spray
Some like an all natural solution, others don’t mind the robust coverage of a not-as-natural solution. We’re in the latter camp when it comes to bugs bugging in on your experience. Treating your clothing before going out can help mitigate the need to wear heavier coverage of non-natural products on your skin.

Perfect for flat or low-angle terrain in the snow or high-angle rock action, these can come in real handy when the ice sets in on the mountains and valleys.
An Extra Change of Clothes
There’s no link for this one, but we still wanted to insert this tip just in case. Depending on how rigorous the hike is, some couples may prefer to pack their ceremony clothes and change under cover of nature when they arrive at their destination.

Brovino Silicone Wine Glasses
The first time we saw these we LOL’d at how brilliant they are. They pack flat, are lightweight, and let you have your post-ceremony “Cheers!” anywhere in the world.
YETI Ramblers
The mug iteration of their Rambler line is insulated and can clip onto the outside of your bag with a carabiner. The tumbler with a mag slider lid keeps liquids warm forever. This lid also you can thoroughly clean the tumbler between uses and avoid breaking lids like their plastic comparables.
Coleman Enamel Mug
This mug clips easily to the outside of your pack, is lightweight, and is usable for both hot and cold liquids or foods. It’s also easy to clean and inexpensive.
REI Co-op Nalgene Wide-Mouth Water Bottle
We like function when it comes to our water receptacles. We carry these things around the house with us when we work from home and around town when out meeting clients or scouting locations. They fit into the water bottle side pockets of most overnight backpacks, they also screw perfectly into our MSR Water Filter and onto the mouth of our Camelbak for overnights.
Reusable Utensils
When it comes to utensils, there are tons of options out there. Some people like bamboo or plastic for their lightweight nature, some like options that come in a pouch, but we like anything that hooks onto a carabiner with our camp cup for easy attachment to the outside of our pack.
