The Ceremony Writing Guide
In a world of trendy templates, generic advice, and AI-generated scripts,
You deserve a deeply personal wedding ceremony that feels like you.
IF WE’RE BEING HONEST,
Traditional wedding ceremonies aren’t our thing—and probably aren’t yours, either.
We know who you are, because we’ve been there, too:
Excited about selecting a person you love to officiate, but unsure of the next step
Craving a celebration that breaks the mold of a traditional or religious ceremony, but lacking examples to look to for inspiration
Dreaming of a well-written, heartfelt reflection of your love story, but worried that your writing skills are inadequate
Seeking a ceremony infused with personalization, meaning, and rich emotion, but discouraged by the AI-generated scripts you find online
You know it’s worth your time to create something unique and sentimental for your commitment—
But you also know you’re going to need a little guidance to get there.
It’s clear that the charming friend or family member you’ve chosen needs to learn how to deliver a captivating, cohesive ceremony. . .
But the stuff that comes in the middle is an absolute mystery.
Maybe you are that dear person who has been asked to officiate, but you:
Lack the knowledge & experience to craft a meaningful ceremony that matches their vision
Don’t have enough time to navigate getting ordained, writing a ceremony, and performing it on the big day
Run into writer’s block every time you even think about what to say, and how to thoughtfully translate the couple’s love story into words
Struggle to find resources and support online that aren’t generic, or wildly overpriced
It’s tough to ask for help when you need it, but we see you—ready to raise a brave, vulnerable hand in the name of creating a powerful, life-changing moment that the couple will cherish for eternity
And we’re answering that call for support.
It’s time to ditch the outdated ceremony structure you’ve heard a hundred times.
Learn how to craft a personalized, memorable, and meaningful ceremony that reflects you
We see it time and time again:
Couples invite a loved one to officiate their ceremony and soon realize they’re out of their depth—unsure where to turn next.
They want a custom ceremony based on their love story, but the writing process feels like an impossible task on an already never-ending to-do list.
Your ceremony is an opportunity to share the stories, values, and moments that make up your marriage. . .
It shouldn’t be anything less than perfectly curated to your life and your love.
What if we told you it could be easier?

Let’s be real:
The wedding industry is stuck in patriarchal foundations that don’t serve the modern, creative, and inclusive couple.
At Tapestry Event Co., we believe it’s high time we move on from that, don’t you think?
You’re not getting married because you want an impersonal, aesthetic experience in service of making your day “Instagrammable:”
You’re getting married because you want to share your unique love legacy with your community.
With the people you call home.
With the ones who have stood by your side and will extend their unconditional support through it all.
An approachable way to participate in the creation of your unforgettable marriage ceremony
Intentionally crafted, burnout-free wedding planning solutions that serve the modern DIY couple
Hi, I’m Kate—founder and creative director of Tapestry Event Co., and one of many faces who serve our phenomenal couples like you, year after year.
Writing your ceremony shouldn’t be a dreaded, hours-long task that takes over your life the month before your wedding; it should be a joyful celebration of your journey, a collaborative and creative venture that aligns with your lifestyle, values, and story.
Because guess what?
You deserve to have a deeply personal, meaningful wedding ceremony without the hassle, requirement, or investment of hiring an expert to write it for you.
And here at Tapestry, we help you do just that.
With decades of combined experience helping couples like you write their meaningful wedding or elopement ceremony—and helping even more coordinate events through our online products—we’ve seen it all.
We know that the modern, meaningful wedding you’re craving is not a performance, a trend, or a familial obligation:
It’s an opportunity to share the unique, values-driven love legacy you want to create with your community.
Your story should take center stage—we’ll help you create the spotlight to make it shine.
We see you, spending countless hours digging through Google to find something, anything to guide you. . .
Except all you can find are dull, lifeless templates, education that requires you to attend in-person meetings, or thousand-dollar workshops you’re supposed to send your officiant to.
None of these really give you much of a chance to participate in the creation of your ceremony, do they?
We didn’t like the options that already existed out there, so we created our own:

Yes! The digital format of this is highly accessible for a reason. Couples can work with a friend or family member who doesn't necessarily live in the same city or state. It's meant to be transmitted digitally, and the process lends itself really well to online collaboration between the couple and officiant.

We recommend 1-2 months of lead time, but it depends on the parties involved and the creative process. The couple typically takes 2-3 hours for their end, the officiant 2-3 hours for their end, and another 1-2 hours of collaboration together.
